Raiders grabbed groceries at store

A MAN who was part of a gang which stole groceries from a convenience store has battled an addiction to drugs for nearly half his life, a court heard.

Stephen Keogh (28) had addictions to prescription tablets and heroin but he is now clean and focused on staying out of trouble.

Judge Anthony Halpin ordered a probation report and adjourned sentencing to a date in November.

Keogh, of Glenview Park in Tallaght, admitted theft before Tallaght District Court.

Garda Aine McCarville said Keogh was part of a group of four who entered the Spar on Village Green in Tallaght around 8.30pm on October 2 last year and stole over €260 worth of groceries.

Garda McCarville said the gang was captured on CCTV cameras. The property has not been recovered.
