Radio star Aidan looks forward to putting his feet up

PRESENTER Aidan Power isn't at all worried that Ray Foley has taken over his 98FM radio show.

The 33-year-old says that, while he was initially sad to leave the Dublin station, he's surprised at how little he misses the breakfast slot.

"I haven't been missing the show at all really. I mean I miss the crew and Claire [Solan] a lot, but Dublin's a small place so we've seen a lot of each other since. But I haven't been missing the show at all."

Aidan said he believes the experience of working on a morning radio show will stand to him as he looks for new projects. "Having done a breakfast show for five days a week for two years, it's given me an awful lot of experience," he said. "So I now have that string to my bow."

Hurry

While he was remaining coy about upcoming projects, Aidan did reveal that he would be presenting a New Year's Eve party show on RTE.

"There's a big New Year's Eve show that I've heard about. So I should be involved with that," he said.

And he is in no hurry to start on his next gig. Instead he wants to wait for the right project to come along.

"On the one hand, you want to cast the net quite wide," he said. "But on the other, you don't want to go for just anything. You have to pick and choose."

At the moment he's happy to take some time off.

"I'm on a break at the moment; it's been a long time coming.

"I have a couple of trips to the UK coming up, then it will be Christmas, and I'm hoping to head over to the US in the New Year for a bit.

"I'm really looking forward to Christmas and putting the feet up."
