YEAR after year, the Larriers keep on producing on both fronts.

In hurling, they are never too far away from the hall door, and in the football, with the majority of the same squad, they always give a respectable performance.

They were well worth their win against Ballinteer in Swords. They dominated that match. They played with much energy.

They didn't waste the ball. And making the most of possession will be their priority against the mighty Plunkett's, one of Dublin football's heavyweights.

Plunkett's got off the floor to get a remarkable result against Vincent's the first day. That type of recovery can often fill the petrol tank with confidence and optimism for the rest of the journey.

CONTENDERS

Plunkett's have been in the shortlist to win the jackpot for the last few years, and, once again, they are certainly one of the leading contenders.

Mick Galvin has a cultured crew -- names like Michael Brides, Anthony Moyles, Conor Daly, Shane Dunne, the Brogans Alan, Bernard and Paul), Gareth 'Nesty' Smith and the and only Jayo(pictured above).

However, Player of the Year nominee, Alan, is an injury concern.

O'Toole's will chase every crumb. Liam Fitzgerald, Mick Cunningham and Jody Bastow won't be giving away the cocktail sausages.

David Mooney, Andy Morris and Mick Healy will all be sweating like Christy Moore. And the Carton brothers, Dublin senior hurlers Michael and Peadar, and their cousin, Paddy, made excellent donations against St John's.

Plunkett's won't have it all their own way but still their firepower will see them home.

LAST YEAR -- St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh: Semi-final. O'Toole's: Fourth round.
