Plunkett's comeback

dublin u15hc 'c' final

St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh took the chances that came their way as they deservedly accounted for Kilmacud Crokes 'B' by 5-10 to 3-4 in their Dublin U15 'C' Hurling Championship final at Blakestown Road last Sunday afternoon.

Crokes raced out the blocks thanks to goals by Dan Crowley, Nathan Slattery and Anthony Quinn while Stephen Tuite, Josh Slevin and Hugh Bermingham were particularly prominent in the early stages.

However, three points by midfielder Lorcan Stone stalled Kilmacud's momentum with their lead whittled down to three points by half-time.

The second-half was a one-sided affair with Plunkett's seizing the initiative through full-back Adam Ralph, centre-back Cian Gibbons and their midfield pairing of Stone and Conor Scully.

Despite losing one of their key personnel in David Phelan through injury before the game, the Navan Road club continued to impress with centre-forward David Sheridan plundering three goals and full-forward Sean Clerkin was another to shine, accruing 2-4 over the hour.
