Two women have been sent for trial accused of taking part in a pub brawl in which revellers at a hen night were allegedly attacked.

Two of the party-goers are said to have been injured when punches and bottles were thrown in a row that broke out with three people at the next table.

Marika Puhar (28) and Alison Renard (26) were both returned for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, charged with violent disorder.

Ms Renard, of St Alphonsus Road Lower, Drumcondra, is also charged with producing a bottle in the course of a dispute.

As well as violent disorder, Ms Puhar, of Gardiner Place in the north city centre, faces a second charge of assault causing harm to a woman.

A third accused, Ms Puhar's partner Luka Tomljanovic (32), was sent forward earlier this year and his case is currently before the circuit court.

Mr Tomljanovic is charged with violent disorder and assaulting two sisters, causing them harm.

Swung

The incident is alleged to have happened at Sam's Bar on Dawson Street in the early hours of last January 20.

Ms Puhar and Ms Renard both had books of evidence served on them at Dublin District Court.

A judge sent them for trial to the present sittings of the circuit court.

Garda Sergeant Gail Smith previously outlined the allegations, saying a row took place between people at the accused's table and an adjacent one, where a group of women were at a hen party.

Sgt Smith said it was alleged Mr Tomljanovic "swung boxes" into the group of girls who were involved in the hen party, punching one woman and her sister in the face.

The court heard the alleged injuries were bruising and "nothing was broken".

Ms Puhar allegedly got involved, striking one woman three times in the face with her fist and throwing bottles.

Ms Renard was accused of throwing a glass bottle at a woman, which connected.

As the incident became more violent, it was alleged she kicked a woman.
