Our Katie boxes her way into last sixteen

IRISH Olympic hopeful Katie Taylor today boxed her way into the last sixteen of the World championships in China.

The Bray native defeated her Tunisian opponent in comprehensive fashion.

Taylor (below) trounced Tunisian Rim Jouini 19-6 in their last 32 encounter this morning. The event is an Oly-mpic qualifier.

The fight - which started at 7am Irish time - was dominated by the Wicklow girl who won the four rounds.

She is now on course to win her fourth world title in a row -- with today's win boosting her credentials at next month's London Olympics.

Taylor brushed aside her opponent, tying her into a corner to record a comfortable win.

Katie's father, Peter Taylor, said that he believes his daughter has a strong chance of winning the championship.
