O'SHEA STAR FOR STELLAR JUDE'S

The Tymon Park outfit shone from the opening whistle and they showed little mercy for the remainder of the game with the contest effectively settled by half-time as Jude's enjoyed a 2-11 to 1-3 interval advantage.

Central to their dominance was the performance of Daragh O'Shea with the talented corner-forward amassing a telling 3-8 of his side's tally in addition to creating a glut of scoring chances for his teammates in what was an exceptional individual display.

BOLSTERED

It was far from a one-man show however with St Jude's impressing in all areas of the field with their defence bolstered by the footballing abilities of Ciarán McLoughlin, Conall Cleere and Conor Gleeson.

In midfield, Aaron O'Driscoll and Ross Dunphy eclipsed their direct opponents although Parnell's were unfortunate to lose the towering Mark Heron through a shoulder injury midway through the first-half.

O'Shea served early notice of his lethal intent when opening the scoring in the first minute and fellow inside-forward Jack Moore added a second point a minute later as St Jude's showed few signs of nerves with an accomplished start.

Their excellent interplay was rewarded in the fourth minute as Dunphy picked out a wonderful pass to find O'Shea who took his time before firing a measured finish past the horribly exposed Corey Clusker in the Parnell's goal.

SUPERB

Despite the concession of seven goals over the hour, Clusker was largely faultless and made some superb saves to limit the damage being done on the scoreboard.

There were few crumbs of comfort for the Coolock outfit overall but a superb goal off the upright from John Keegan enabled Parnell's to trim their arrears to just two points by the sixth minute.

However, that was as good as it got for them as Jude's dominated the aerial exchanges through Dunphy while wing-back Conor Gleeson was another player to impress as the contest evolved.

O'Shea and Moore added to their own personal tallies as the half evolved and despite Keith Campbell landing two points for Parnell's, the half finished well for St Jude's when Ryan Meaney netted in the 30th minute to hand his side a healthy 2-11 to 1-3 interval lead.

Any hopes of a Parnell's revival in the second-half were firmly banished as O'Shea released James Nugent for a simple finish in the 32nd minute and the former added two glorious points from play before flicking an accurate finish past Clusker for Judes' fourth goal at the end of the third quarter.

Conall Cleere and Ciarán McLoughlin excelled in the St Jude's defence as the contest became increasingly one-sided with substitute Eoin Flood netting in the 48th minute while O'Shea completed his hat-trick three minutes later to punish some particularly lax defending on Parnell's part.

O'Shea fed Flood for a seventh goal soon after with Campbell's free in riposte of mere consolation value to Parnells.

Fittingly, the game ended as it began with a flurry of St Jude's scores with Cleere and Gleeson joining in the fun through well-taken points, highlighting the all-round excellence of the more than deserving winners from Tymon Park.
