Oracle profit up 79pc

THE IRISH arm of US software giant Oracle saw profit jump by 79pc to $55m (€41m) last year.

Dublin-based Oracle East Central Europe Ltd said turnover increased by 26pc to $214m (€162m) to the end of May last year.

New accounts just filed with the Companies Office show the company, which produces and sells computer software for the central European market, kept job numbers steady at 64 last year.

The firm's operating profits last year increased by 82pc, from $30.6m to $55.8m.
