It's the one thing we love to hate. Eurovision is like Marmite for Irish people.
We groan at the mere mention of the kitsch competition.
We roll our eyes when we see another outlandish act prance across the stage.
But in reality, we are addicted to the annual song contest.
An audience of 350,000 tuned in to watch Ireland and the Eurovision - the Good, the Bad and the Mad on RTE earlier this week and many more will be keeping an eye on how Ireland performs in the semi-finals tomorrow.
If Dublin teen Molly Sterling makes it through to the finals on Saturday, we will be glued to our TV screens, cheering for every douze points.
We have won a record-breaking seven times. Here's hoping this 50th year of Ireland's entry to the competition will be rewarded with another victory.
