Top priority to fix scandal of Priory Hall

BUYING your own home is the biggest investment many of us will ever make. So imagine the trauma of losing your own home, especially due to circumstances which were completely beyond your control?

The residents of Priory Hall in Donaghmede, north Dublin must have been devastated over the weekend as they packed up their last belongings and moved out of their properties.

None of the residents in the 187 apartments -- 137 of which are occupied by private owners or tenants -- was aware that there would be any issues with the properties when they moved in.

And why would they? They were well within their rights to assume that fire safety regulations in the building would have been met prior to getting their keys.

They now find themselves in a terrible limbo. Understandably these residents are worried about what will happen to their complex now that it is vacant. For the sake of these residents, this problem must be rectified as quickly as possible.

Airline talks a cash boost

Whe whatever the outcome of the talks involving the cash rich Etihad airline,it is of some comfort that they are intrested in buying our national airline. Now that Ryanair has stated that it won't stand in the way of a potential takeover from Etihad, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
