RTE suffering blurred vision with Drunk

LVarious people were filmed in a drunken state for RTE's new show, Drunk. And while the producers claim that it is a serious 'exploration', showing the affects of alcohol on the human mind and body, a couple of equally serious questions need to be asked. Firstly, why was it was not fronted solely by a scientist, rather than entertainment show presenter Eoghan McDermott? And secondly, what exactly did the show think it was telling us that we don't already know? I assume RTE will now decide to spend more license payers' money on a one-hour show, which conclusively proves that the sun sets in the west.

TThe National Ploughing Championships has seen 200,000 people descend on Stradbally, Co Laois, to look at farm machinery and ploughing demonstrations. Or not, in reality. A large proportion of visitors treat this as little more than a networking opportunity, and seems to have supplanted the Galway Races as the go-to place to press the flesh. Just how sidelined is the actual ploughing element? Well, for example, there are 12 hours of actual ploughing competitions, but 10 hours of fashion shows. I've nothing against the National Ploughing Championships. Other than its insistence on calling itself the National Ploughing Championships.
