Lovely day for a Picnic

THOUSANDS today will wake up in tents, music from the night before still ringing in their ears and many more hours of music lying ahead, as Electric Picnic gets into full swing.

The boutique festival has come quite a long way in recent years and appears to have survived the slings and arrows of outrageous recession.

Now it is widely considered the official end of the summer in some respects, the last big sunshine fling -- and let's just hope for the sake of all those who shelled out on tickets with that in mind that the weather comes through for them all this weekend.
