Letters: Road safety calls for no celebration

Will the Road Safety Authority (RSA) please stop patting itself on the back.

Will the Road Safety Authority (RSA) please stop patting itself on the back.

Fewer people were killed on our roads last year because fewer cars were on the road as (a) two-car families are in rapid decline, (b) many people can't afford to go away for Bank Holidays etc, and (c) the dreadful weather and road conditions over the New Year period kept people at home for weeks. One life saved is worth celebrating, but please don't claim it as your personal achievement.
