Letters: End celibacy vow

As a consequence of the recent child sex abuse scandals in the Catholic Church in Ireland, the resignation of Cardinal Brady is the only fit and proper end to a sorry chapter in the history of the Church on the island of Ireland.

The Catholic Church needs to be brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century and it should start with ending the priests' vow of celibacy.
