Knife attack affected so many lives

THE killer knife spree embarked on by Dublin student Shane Clancy shocked the nation when it happened more than four years ago. The 22-year-old murdered another student, Sebastian Creane, then stabbed his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Hannigan, before killing himself.

His motive was the ending of his relationship with Hannigan, who had started dating Creane.

The bloodshed, terror and catastrophic emotional impact of Clancy's actions will be relived in a TV documentary next week.

It will see Creane's parents reveal how his death almost ended their marriage.

Jennifer Hannigan speaks of the moment Clancy attacked her. And the killer's mother also tells of her disbelief at his actions.

The interviews will show how the actions of one day can severely impact on the lives of those who survive. It is also a testament to the bravery of the survivors as they get on with their lives.
