It's time for leadership, not excuses

ALL the big news of late has been about the big personalities in politics being brought down, grabbing headlines as they go. It seems not a week goes by that we learn of another politician having to resign from office due to some transgression and the aftershocks seem to resound through the corridors of power with fingers being pointed in all directions.

But one can't help wondering whether there is a real lack of focus on the real issues of getting this country back on its feet? Where are all the headline-grabbing initiatives? Where is the real leadership?

What we really want and need at this point is a clear voice from the highest level reassuring us that everything that should be done is being done right now.

No more excuses. No more apologies. No more inquiries or investigations.

Clear and confident direction for this country is what we want now.
