TERRY Wogan makes a rare trip back to Ireland when the BBC airs Wogan on Ireland this Sunday night. The two-part documentary will see Terry returning to the home of his youth, and seeing all the changes that have take place here since he left to join the BBC in 1969.
I'm presuming that Terry will actually be there in person this time, and that Ireland is not being recreated through CGI technology in a London studio.
After all, this is the same Terry Wogan who had a show on the ill-fated Century radio -- the first national rival to RTE Radio -- back in 1989, and announced on his first broadcast how nice it was to be back on Irish radio, and looking out of the studio window at Christchurch Cathedral.
It subsequently transpired that Terry's show was entirely pre-recorded in a London studio...
