MMalala Yousafzai is the 17-year-old Afghan schoolgirl who survived a Taliban murder attempt and has now won the Nobel Peace Prize for her educational campaigning. This week she also featured, among many others, on Time magazine's annual list of the most influential teenagers. I can't think of a better role model for young people.

BIt EMERGED this week that gardai are preparing to seek an extradition warrant for disgraced banker David Drumm. The ex-Anglo Irish Bank chief has, of course, been based in the States for almost six years. Gardai want to quiz him on suspicion of fraud at Anglo but he's repeatedly refused to co-operate. The sooner this man is brought back and questioned the better.
