Have I got news for Kevin...

A business analyst, Kevin Kelly, has conducted a survey about Irish newspaper headlines, and declared that they are spreading too many bad vibes.

Analysing two weeks' worth of stories, he discovered that they carry far more negative than positive stories, which affected consumer confidence, and therefore reduced spending. Which essentially means that newspapers are partly to blame for the recession.

The flaw in Mr Kelly's research, aside from the fact that it's based on the notion that the media should indulge in some happy-clappy campaign to cheer people up, is what he considers to be a "negative headline".

Because in his list, he puts the headline "Now jail Bertie" under 'bad news'.

Surely the prospect of imprisoning the former Taoiseach is good news?
