Editorial: New hope in Anglo probe

GARDA files relating to Anglo Irish Bank are being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions today.

A total of 48 volumes, in two separate files, are the result of months of painstaking investigative work.

It could be months before the DPP reaches a decision, but detectives hope prosecutions will be brought.

The completion of the investigation will also come as a relief for the public who have waited expectantly for action.
