Editorial: It's time for our leaders to grow up

IT'S another day in the creche that Irish politics has become. Ireland awoke today to news that shamed Senator Ivor Callely has been invited to visit the President at the Aras, while Tanaiste Mary Coughlan is being prevented from embarking on a mission to the US to create jobs by an opposition that continues to moan that there isn't enough being done to create jobs.

Both unbelievable, but both true.

And all we can do is look on in disbelief at the antics of our elected (and in Ivor's case the unelected) politicians continue with their playground politics as the country heads for hell in a handcart.

Meanwhile, we, the taxpayers, fork out for their salaries as well as their mistakes.
