Cracks are beginning to show in the main party of Government. And it's not just the events of the past eight days and the resignation of two ministers which has caused these rifts.
The Government has been coming under increasing pressure due to a growing unease about the performance of several other ministers.
The debacles range from the Transport Minister's delay in the sun while the country was held in the grip of the worst weather in decades to the most recent spat between Ryanair and the Tanaiste over 300 jobs at Dublin airport.
What the public needs now is at least a gesture that the Government is listening to those without jobs and those suffering heavy financial burdens.
The Taoiseach should take a hard look at the people who surround him and put in place the best people for the most challenging roles.
We deserve no less.
