HOT on the heels of Roz Purcell launching her new clothing line, another VIP Style Award winner - Conor McGregor - has bagged his first advertising campaign.
Advertising agencies these days are obsessed with the habit of creating “brand ambassadors”, throwing free products at celebrities in the hope that a simple association will create demand.
The King crisps ad, however, has a clever script and simple message, and the inspired way it makes fun of McGregor’s famously fruity language shows that an ad executive put a bit more thought into the campaign than just giving someone a free car and asking them to tweet about it.
It’s “King genius”, as Conor himself would no doubt say.
