Kian's whopper wages for waffle on The Voice

IT seems Kian Egan was paid €80,000 for being a coach on The Voice of Ireland. €80,000? Seriously? That works out at a euro per utterance of complete nonsense. Nice work if you can get it.

WHAT a smack in the face for talent shows the world over. A dog won Britain's Got Talent. Simon Cowell summed it up by declaring -- 'my life's work is complete'. The show gave us Pudsey (inset), who, with his owner, won £500,000 (€600,000) to be spent on dog food and a few human treats for his trainer Ashleigh Butler. How on earth will Simon make this money back? There will be no albums, no duets, no Christmas number 1s and no autographs. There is some poetic justice in all of this.

I HAVE a great feeling about Katie Taylor. I reckon she is going to be our summer success story. With the Olympics and Euro 2012 coming up, we will have plenty to cheer during the summer months. But Katie, who is defending her world title at the moment in China, might just be the one who gets us some gold.
