WHAT a wonderful weekend for Ireland.
The events in the famous Stade de France last Saturday, coming as they did shortly before the St Patrick's Day celebrations, made for a perfect few days.
We witnessed bravery, guts and – of course – tears as Ireland won the Six Nations championship in Paris on Brian O'Driscoll's last day in the green jersey.
The levels of joy and jubilation as my local pub erupted in cheers at the end was something I hadn't seen since the heady days of Italia 90.
Plans are now under way for a celebratory bash to honour our rugby heroes.
Such a bash would probably be bigger that Dublin's St Patrick's Day parade.
Let's do it.
The players deserve it – and so do their fans.
