CROSSMAGLEN boss Tony McEntee has slammed Croke Park bosses for erasing Stephen Kernan's name from their match programme teamsheet for Saturday's drawn All-Ireland club final.
The Armagh champs had named their suspended skipper (pictured) in his usual No 11 position, pending the outcome of his DRA appeal which was heard on Thursday night. But the programme was published without Kernan being listed and, instead, Martin Aherne was named at No 11.
After seeing their titanic clash with Garrycastle end in stalemate, McEntee was asked if he was disappointed that his captain had been unable to play after losing his appeal.
"I was more disappointed, to be honest, that the CCC took his name out of the programme," the Crossmaglen boss responded.
"We had him listed on the team programme, pending his DRA decision on Thursday night, and for some reason they made up their own mind and took his name out and put somebody else in instead."
While they were "expecting" Kernan to lose his appeal, McEntee pointedly added: "I think people in admin should deal with admin and leave everything else."
The Cross' boss clarified that this explained why Aherne, when he entered the game as a 51st minute sub, was wearing No 19 and not No 11.
