O'Carroll's warning for Blues
RORY O'CARROLL has likened Tyrone's grizzled gun-slingers to the Kilkenny hurlers and warned that you write them off at your peril.
As ticket frenzy returns to the capital for the first time in 2011, the Dublin full-back cautioned: "You get people writing them off but it's like writing Kilkenny off - it will come back to haunt you."
Dublin are marginal 5/6 favourites to prevail in Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final but, with no more second chances afforded the Leinster champions, O'Carroll confirmed there is already a changed mindset in the Sky Blue camp.
"Your next game could be your last so it's natural that people feel it's s**t or bust. If you don't perform you're out, so everyone is going to be a bit more geared up and clued in," he revealed.
Dublin GAA chiefs are now predicting a 60,000-plus crowd for Saturday night's 7pm throw-in at Croke Park. This would compare favourably with the 62,749 that attended last year's quarter-final double-header when Down/Kerry played on the same bill as Dublin/Tyrone.
"I'm told that the Hill could be sold out today," revealed Dublin chairman Andy Kettle.
