No wild times as Brand settles for bland night

THE last time Russell Brand was in town, he had a pretty mind-blowing time.

The comedian claims to have had a record number of orgasms while staying in our fair city.

"Once in Dublin – nine," he said earlier this year. "Not even in a day, an evening. I felt exhausted the next day."

But last night, things weren't quite so wild for the reformed sex addict. Brand avoided Dublin's better known hot spots after performing at the Olympia Theatre.

The movie star touched down in Dublin yesterday evening and made his way to The Merrion Hotel.

He was seen dashing into the Olympia ahead of the gig last night with a close-knit entourage.

But it was an early night for the star who made his way home at a very reasonable hour.

There may be a good reason why Russell avoiding the Dublin ladies – despite his fond memories of them.

He is currently dating Hugh grant's ex Jemima Khan. The couple fell for each other three months ago over the medium of Skype.

Since then they have been on a succession of dates with Jemima's pet dog Brian. The pair recently attended a screening of new documentary Unmanned: America's Drone Wars.

Brand has remained tight-lipped about his love life since divorcing Katy Perry in February 2012. But last month he admitted he was "presently beleaguered by a nerdish, whirling dervish" and was "eschewing all others".

In his show, The Messiah Complex, Brand takes a look at religious and cultural icons such as Che Guevara, Jesus and Gandhi.

He ponders whether Jesus would endorse drinks and clothing lines if he was still around today and also considers Che's sex life.
