It was another bumper turnout at Newbridge House for the weekly Donabate parkrun, as the latest run saw over 100 hardy souls brave the early morning to run, jog and walk the five-kilometre course around the beautiful grounds.
As always participating in the parkrun is absolutely free so the dedication of volunteers who show up every week to run the event is worthy of huge praise.
"They were absolutely brilliant," said first-timer Deirdre Kilmurray (28). "You couldn't ask for a better bunch of volunteers."
Having only recently taking up running, the Lusk resident completed the 5km circuit alongside her friend Grainne O'Donovan.
"We were delighted to have finished, not because we didn't enjoy it but because we actually managed to do it," she joked.
"I'll definitely be back now to do it again next week. Can't wait. The fact everyone was so nice and friendly really made it inviting."
The Donabate Parkrun takes place every Saturday and begins at 9.30am.
"It's something I never miss," said Mark Conway (34), from Donabate.
"You can't beat a morning run, it does wonders to clear the cobwebs out."
A regular at the weekly run, he insisted it is for everyone because people could "run, jog or walk" at their own pace.
