WW1 play introduces new stars

A HOST of up and coming theatre stars have taken to the stage as part of Gerard Humphries new play Friendly Fire.

Taking centre stage is Clodagh Mooney Duggan (inset) who, despite only graduating from The Gaiety School of Acting last year, has already appeared in many productions including playing Juliet in a national tour of Romeo and Juliet.

Another rising star is Ian Meehan, who is fresh from his turn as Jim Larkin in Lockout. Ian has also just finished the actor's course at the Factory and has appeared in top children's TV show, Roy.

The play tells the story of poet and ladies man Francis Ledwidge and how he comes to the decision to go to war and runs until October 11 at the New theatre on Essex Street in Temple Bar. Tickets are €15.
