Woodie's owner boost

Woodie's DIY owner Grafton Group said its revenue rose 9.5pc to £2.08bn (€2.66bn) last year, helped by what it said was "favourable" trading in the final quarter.

In a trading update, the company said that it had continued to benefit from "positive momentum" and a sustained recovery in the UK and Ireland.

Grafton, which is headed by chief executive Gavin Slark (left), generates about 75pc of its business in the UK, where it owns chains of builders merchants businesses.
