Woman had ¤280k of drugs

A HOMELESS woman became involved in drug dealing to get accommodation.

Anne Walsh (45) was living in a van when a man called 'Boss' asked her to store and distribute drugs. He offered her an apartment and to clear her partner's drug debt.

Walsh, of South Green, Arklow, Wicklow, admitted possession of €265,500 of cannabis and €14,500 of cannabis resin for sale or supply at Old Hammock Way, Kilmainham, on December 22, 2009. She was jailed for three years at Dublin Circuit Court.



Brown admits drink driving

A LAWYER for Bobby Brown, the ex-husband of singer Whitney Houston, entered a no-contest plea to a drink-driving charge.

Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan said Brown was sentenced to three years of probation and a 90-day alcohol education course.



Security staff yelled at girl (4)

THE grandmother of a four-year-old girl who became hysterical at a Kansas airport says security staff forced her to undergo a pat-down, yelled at the child and called her an uncooperative suspect.

The child's grandmother, Lori Croft, said they initially passed through security at Wichita airport without incident. But then the child ran to hug Croft. The Transportation Security Administration says it followed proper procedures.
