A woman has died in a crash car in Drogheda this morning.

The collision between a car and a truck happened on the main Drogheda to Duleek Road in Co Louth this morning at around 6am

There were four people in the car - two women and two men - and the woman was declared dead at the scene.

The other female passenger is in a serious condition. The two men's injuries are described as being non-life threatening.

All of the injured people have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital. The male truck driver was uninjured in the collision.

The road remains closed for a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
