Woman accused of assault in shop

A WOMAN has been sent for trial charged with seriously assaulting another woman at a Dublin supermarket.

Mary Maughan (37) had a book of evidence served on her at Blanchardstown district court.

Ms Maughan, with an address at Palmerstown Woods, Clondalkin, is charged with assault causing harm to a woman.

The offence is alleged to have happened at Dunne's Stores, Mill Centre, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin on November 29 last.

She is also charged with producing a knife in the course of a dispute.

Judge David McHugh gave her the formal notice that she must provide within 14 days to the prosecution details of any alibi she intends to rely on. He sent her for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
