To celebrate delivery of their first A380 aircraft next month, British Airways is offering Herald readers the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to its inaugural destination – Los Angeles!

The new Airbus A380 – a double-decker superjumbo – is British Airways' largest ever commercial aircraft accommodating 469 passengers across four cabins.

The lucky readers will take in the sights of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica Pier having crossed the Atlantic in the luxury and style for which BA is renowned.

You could visit Beverly Hills, see the famous Hollywood sign or relax on some of the world's most beautiful beaches.

British Airways would like Irish passengers to be among the first to experience their new aircraft. The A380 includes the latest in-flight entertainment system giving customers new larger screens in all cabins and the choice of up to 50pc more movies.

Simon Daly, British Airways Manager for Ireland, said: "We're very excited about the arrival of our Airbus A380 and hope that many Irish consumers will get to experience it first hand in the near future.

"At British Airways, providing a top class travelling experience for our passengers from Ireland is vital. With up to eight flights a day from Dublin to London Heathrow, passengers can benefit from excellent connectivity to our extensive global network."

Seats for the inaugural flights to LA are now on sale for travel from October 15. For further information visit www.ba.com.
