NORTH Korea has announced that Kim Jong Un has been officially named supreme commander of the military -- and he will certainly have some big help to call on if this picture is anything to go by.

At first glance it appears to be just another line of troops standing to attention to pay their respects to former leader Kim Jong Il.

However, a closer look at the back row reveals one soldier towering over his fellows.

The image of the soldier -- who appears to be 8ft tall -- was captured at this week's funeral.

Speculation has now turned to who the mystery soldier might be.

Some say it could be former North Korean basketball star, Ri Myung Hun, who once held the record as the world's tallest man.

Meanwhile, officials and state media have bestowed on Kim Jong Un, who is in his late 20s, a string of titles as North Korea's elite rally around him in the wake of his father's death.

He has been dubbed Great Successor, Supreme Leader and Great Leader, as well as Supreme Commander.
