Whiskey beats Scotch

IRISH whiskey worldwide sales exceeded five million cases in 2011, surpassing Scotch single malt for the first time.

An exhibition of whiskies will take place in the Mansion House, Dublin to mark the growing interest in homegrown and international fare.

Whisky Live Dublin, on Saturday, May 26, will showcase the best selection of Scotch and international whiskies.

The over-18s, ticket-only event caters for the novice to the connoisseur and includes VIP masterclass sessions hosted by the industry's leading distillers and whiskey experts. The day ticket with food, tasting glass and sample vouchers costs €33.
