Western Union boost

THE Irish arm of money transfer giant Western Union last year increased revenues by 18pc to $49.9m (€34.5m), new accounts show.

Total revenues dropped by $120m from $2.633bn to $2.513bn to the end of December, according to accounts filed by Western Union International Ltd. The filings show that the Irish unit's pre-tax profits last year increased by $7.7m from $42.2m to $49.9m.
