West Dublin: De Paul pool set to re-open after six-year closure
THE de Paul swimming pool on the Navan Road is finally due to be re-opened - six years after it closed its doors.
A spokeswoman for the Daughters of Charity, which owns the complex, said that it underwent "substantial renovations" and is due to re-open in September.
A management company has been appointed to run the pool and there will be significant public access hours.

"It is a community resource. It has been used for many years by many people in the local area," she said.
Funding issues delayed the revamp, she added.
Many people in the area and farther afield in Dublin 15 will have learned to swim there as children.
Local councillor David McGuinness, who contacted the charity for an update on the progress of the pool, said locals would be delighted.
"It was a big task to undertake," he told the Herald. "I remember meeting residents in my constituency and for years they were asking about updates on their swimming pool so it was a hot topic.
"It's very unfortunate that it took so long but now, thankfully, it's sorted."
Meanwhile in Lucan, the Pool4Lucan campaign has received a boost as a swimming pool for the area has been included in the draft development plan.
The county development plan is currently out for public consultation and an objective tabled by the independent councillors on the pool is included.

Liona O'Toole, Paul Gogarty and Gus O'Connell tabled an objective to see the pool included in the plan for the area.
It proposes that the default site for the pool will be the recently announced sports complex at Griffeen, while other locations could also be scouted.
A petition seeking a swimming pool for the area has gathered more than 1,000 signatures.
