Clannad's Moya Brennan says she is regularly in touch with sister Enya, Ireland's best-selling solo artist.
Enya is known for being a private individual who has not courted the fame that came with her international musical success, with more than 75 million records sold.
Enya started her musical career in Clannad with her Donegal siblings and harpist and singer Moya told the Herald they are always in touch and meet for family gatherings.
She said Enya was also working on her music. "She's grand - busy doing stuff. She is always recording," said Moya
"She's one of the sisters. I have four and am the eldest of nine [siblings].
"Any family get together is always an excuse - a birthday, christening, a wedding - we are always together."
Moya was in Dublin yesterday as an album display built into the path outside the historic Windmill Lane Recording Studios was unveiled.
The "vinyl walkway" is something of a Hollywood Walk of Fame, with albums from the many outstanding musicians who have recorded there, including U2, Van Morrison, The Waterboys, Kate Bush and Clannad.
Moya recorded In A Lifetime with "good friend" Bono at the studio in 1985.It relocated to Ringsend in 1992.
"For me, Windmill Lane is very special," said Moya.
"The album before we hit international fame we recorded in Windmill - and that was great but it was done on a budget. The fact you were in Windmill was a huge feeling. Hundreds of albums have been recorded in Windmill Lane."
