Warning over bogus calls

Consumers are reminded that people without proper identification should not be allowed in.

"If a member of Dublin City Council calls to a property they will always carry and produce identification. If the caller asks you to check the flow of water at the taps, close the door fully while you do so.

"If you are in any doubt as to the caller's identity, please do not allow access to your premises," was the advice on Dublin City Council's website.
