Warehouse worker put off the road for 20 years

A WAREHOUSE worker caught driving while disqualified has been put off the road for 20 years.

David Machmudov (21) claimed he didn't know he had been banned as he was convicted in his absence.

Judge John Coughlan fined him €500 and disqualified him from driving for 20 years.

The defendant, of Dromcarra Avenue in Tallaght admitted driving without insurance or a driving licence at Glenshane Green in Tallaght on September 29, 2013.

Tallaght District Court heard Machmudov has a previous conviction for driving without insurance.

Defence lawyer George Burns said the defendant was previously convicted in his absence and did not know he had been banned from driving. He apologised for his behaviour.
