Vote to end zero hours contracts

WORKERS who care for some of the most vulnerable people in the country are urging the Government to end zero hours contracts and fund training for staff.

Social care and childcare workers at the Impact Health and Welfare conference in Ennis, Co Clare voted in favour of a motion seeking an end to zero hours contracts. Delegates heard that dedicated staff found their work patterns sporadic and unpredictable, and trying to get loans and mortgages close to impossible.
