US group lured by tax

US group ZAGG said that Ireland's low corporate rate was one of the deciding factors to locate its business here.

The company, which is due to establish a European Services Centre here, will create 300 jobs by the end of 2014. And it said that Ireland's low corporate tax rate "is a nice cherry on top" in its decision to establish the base -- but it wasn't the primary reason for relocation. The mobile communications accessory manufacturer and distributor is preparing a €50m investment in its new operation.
