Two quizzed over 'gay bashing' of journalist

TWO SUSPECTS have been arrested over the 'gay bashing' of a journalist in the Temple Bar area of Dublin.

The men in their 20s, and from the Crumlin area, were arrested at around 8pm last night and are still being questioned at Pearse Street Garda Station last night.

"It is likely they will be charged," said a source.

The arrests were made after the Herald published CCTV images of the suspects who took part in the attack at around 3am on June 8.

A source close to the 46-year-old victim -- who is on holiday in the US -- said he was happy there had been arrests in the case.

He suffered severe bruising and cuts to his forehead and knees and is still extremely shaken over the attack.

The attackers are believed to have stolen the journalist's iPhone, worth €400.
