TV presenter Brian Dowling could be spending a lot less time on Irish shores in the coming months as he has just purchased a swanky new pad in Los Angeles.

The former Big Brother star (39) and his husband Arthur Gourounlian have got themselves an apartment in the city, not long after saying they had no interest in moving there.

The couple are currently in LA, where they have been hanging out with Donal Skehan and his wife Sofie Larsson.

Having dinner at the TV chef's house, he revealed that Brian and Arthur would be on the move soon.

"About four or five months ago, Brian said he was never going to move to LA, today he as an apartment," Donal said.

Asking Brian, "What do you have to say for yourself, how did you change your mind?" Brian replied: "Money. Arthur paid me loads to come here."

They will be the latest Irish celebrities to move to Hollywood, following Donal, who moved in 2016, and Dublin model Shahira Barry who has lived there for several years.

While she is based in Dublin for most of the year while filming Fair City, Jenny Dixon also spends considerable time in LA, following her stints partying in the Playboy Mansion several years ago.

Donal and Sofie are now raising their son Noah in the city, recently celebrating his first Easter with a family day out in Beverly Hills.

Brian wed Armenian choreographer Arthur in 2015 at Powerscourt, Co Wicklow after three years of dating. Attendees at the wedding included Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, Louis Walsh, and TV3 presenter Alan Hughes and his husband Karl Broderick.

Brian's fellow Big Brother housemate Narinder Kaur acted as bridesmaid.
