Travel contract awarded

Travel Management Company Club Travel has been awarded the new State travel management contract.

The contract covers air, rail, ferry and hotel bookings and was awarded following an EU tendering process. It will come into effect today.

Junior Finance Minister Simon Harris (left) said it was an example of an Irish SME competing and securing a public contract.

"Club Travel's success adds five new jobs to the 135 already employed there," Mr Harris said in an interview with Herald Business.
