Tragic Nicole had her whole life planned out

THE brother of Nicole Kelly made an emotional tribute to the young girl whose life was tragically ended in a road accident.

Nicole (13) was killed just yards from her home in Mulhuddart when she was knocked down on a slip road off the N3.

On Saturday Nicole's family and friends held a poignant service in her memory.

A white horse-drawn carriage made the short journey from her home in Ladyswell Road to the Church of St Luke the Evangelist, Mulhuddart. A simple arrangement of white and pink roses spelled out Nicole's name.

Hundreds of school friends from Coolmine Community School formed a guard of honour in the grounds of the church.

Nicole's brother, Lee (23)spoke from the pulpit about his sister's hopes and dreams.

"Nicole was more than a member of our family. She was always cheerful and so full of life," he said. "She had such a good heart. She had her whole life planned out. She talked about her wedding dress and how she wanted to travel the world.

"Nicole was such a loving person. She was a beautiful person, she brightened our lives," he added. "She'll always be in our heart. Thank you, sister Nicole that I became part of your life."

Young friends brought items from the teenage girl's world to the altar -- a poster of pop group JLS, perfume and tanning cream.

Parish priest Fr Eugene McCarthy said Nicole's parents, Karen and Paul, described her as having a "heart of gold".
