Tourists killed in bus crash

Eleven Hungarian tourists were killed when a speeding tour bus overturned at a Red Sea resort town in south-eastern Egypt.

It was reported that 27 other tourists were injured in today's crash at the entrance of Hurghada, 315 miles south-east of Cairo.

The dead and the injured were taken by ambulance to Hurghada hospital.

Police and medical officials said the bus was carrying the tourists from their hotel to the airport on a motorway.

Road accidents are very common in Egypt due to bad roads and poor enforcement of traffic laws.

Police estimate road accidents kill about 6,000 people annually.
