Tourists face chaos as 12,000 flights off

TOURISTS travelling to the US from Ireland face a second day of chaos.

Aer Lingus has suspended flights between Dublin and New York today, while US Airways flights to New York, Philadelphia and United Airlines to Washington out of Dublin have all been cancelled.


A total of 12,000 flights have been cancelled over the past two days, disrupting the plans of travellers all over the world.

Customers are asked to check with their airlines before travelling to the airport.

Weather forecasters are predicting that Sandy could linger over as many as 12 states for another 24-36 hours.

Threats of heavy rain and further flooding are hanging over the country as the storm makes its way into Pennsylvania and up into New York State.
